All I did was quote what Jesus said.

The Bible indicates that all three Persons of the Trinity were involved in Jesus’ resurrection. Galatians 1:1 says that the Father raised Jesus from the dead. First Peter 3:18 says that the Spirit raised Jesus from the dead (see also Romans 1:4, and note that Romans 8:11 clearly says that God will resurrect believers “through His Spirit”). And in John 2:19 Jesus predicts that He will raise Himself from the dead (see also John 10:18). So, when we answer the question of who resurrected Jesus, we can say God did. And by that we can mean it was the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

So, without a biblical view of ourselves as a tri-partite being, God as a tri-partite being, and a biblical definition of death (which I previously described in detail) a person is left with a whole slew of scriptures that he either has to ignore or wave away by saying they are symbolic.

Jesus knew his disciples would be provided for by others at THAT time, so sent them without money.

So money really isn't the answer for everything like the bible says in Eccl? Imagine that. You are making my case here. So if money really isn't the answer to everything, then the quote about the dead not knowing anything is just as limited in scope, ie, "under the sun".

Jesus explained death when he likened Lazarus to being asleep.( so that agrees with being unconscious) ( maybe you know everything that goes on around you when you are asleep-)

The body sleeps. The soul is NEVER said to sleep. Soul sleep is a heresy.

Why is there going to be a resurrection day if people aren't really dead?

People are dead when their soul , body and spirit are separated ... like in the case of Rachel I previously quoted in Genesis. This is the biblical view.

Part of breaking free from WT mind control is learning how to think, how to read the bible, how to let the bible be its own authority. If we run across two scriptures that seem to contradict each other... that is a sure sign that we do not have a correct biblical view.

In the context of the book of eccliastes, money is the answer to everything "under the sun", just as "the dead know nothing" .... 'under the sun". This phrase appears more than two dozen times in the book so the reader will not mistake its contents for eternal truth.

People prepare a meal for enjoyment, wine makes life joyful, and money is the answer to everything. - Eccl. 10: 19

The book is written from a physical, carnal point of view; which is how most people live their lives. It is a point of view the author ultimately rejects as "vanity".

But if Eccliastes is eternal truth ie. , If money is the answer to everything, they why did Jesus, on one journey, tell his followers not to take any of it with them on their journey? Why did Paul say, in 1Tim. 6:10 "For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after".

See, how it doesn't fit? The NT explains the OT , not the other way around. Jesus said, "You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me".

Jesus is the one who resurrected himslf and walked out of a tomb exactly like he said that he would. This is our gaurantee that he is the Truth, and not someone else. His words provide definition for everything else in the bible.

Early Christians only regarded the NT as their guidebook for the Christian era. This hasn't changed.

If the dead are conscious, then Satan told the truth and you never die-no worries, right?

But, that is not what scripture says Satan claimed is it? He claimed that Eve's disobedience would not lead to death. He didn't claim that Eve's disobedience would lead to unconsciousness. The problem is you don't have a biblical definition of "death".

And it came to pass, as her soul was in departing, (for she died) that she called his name Benoni: but his father called him Benjamin. - Gen. 35: 18

If you let the bible define it's own terms, it keeps you on the right path. The scripture above gives the biblical definition of "death". Death occurs when your soul departs from your body. Nowhere is the soul said to be unconscious in scripture. In Ez. 18: 4 it states that the soul that is sinning will die. In other words, the sinning soul will be separated from its body.

For the believer, "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord" . This is NOT describing a resurrection like the WT claims. Biblical resurrection is the opposite of biblical death and happens when a person's spirit, soul and body are reunited.

All people will be conscious in one state or another for eternity. This is how God made us... in his image, in his likeness. Again, the NT should clarify the OT... especially the words of Jesus.

And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” - Matt. 25: 46

Turns out that Jesus spoke of consciousness after death quite a bit. He described the wicked in the afterlife as weeping, and gnashing their teeth once the realization of what happened to them sinks in.

The problem is that the wicked didn't believe the Word of God, and so they never accepted the "free gift of righteousness" which is "apart from works". This is what Christ offers to "whosoever". All a person has to do is receive the gift.

Are you aware that more than a dozen early christian verbal creeds are found in the new testament? These are dated by non-christian scholars to anywhere from a few weeks from the cross to a few years after the cross. Just WOW!

As much as 90 % of Jesus' followers were illiterate. These creeds had rhymes or some sort of meter to them so that they were easiy rememberd and taught to others.

This is amazing evidence illustrating what the earliest Christians believed immediately after the cross.

The Earliest Christian Creed is found in 1 Cor. 15: 3-8

“For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received:

that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures,

that he was buried,

that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures,

The earliest believers knew that Jesus died as a "Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world", just as John the Baptist introduced him. As Jews, they were also very well familiar with the animal substitution sacrificial system. So, they also understood that it was a personal individual payment for the believer - "Christ died for our sins".

One of the main reasons that we have the new testament was to keep the doctrines and meanings pure from heretics who sought to corrupt and obscure the work of Jesus. So, they wrote their arguments down at the direction of the Holy Spirit.

In so doing, it is possible to firmly refute most every heresy from the scriptures. The leaders that the apostles trained wrote even more than what the apostles did... mostly battling heresies as well. This is also a valuable resource of history that records not only what the heresies were, but also who was responsible for them.

Only in Ecclesiastes which is a philosophical work written from a purely physical point of view. It states dozens of times the phrase “under the sun” does it not?

Just a few paragraphs later it states “money is the answer for everything” .

A person can legitimately say that the Bible says money is the answer for everything.

Why didn’t Russell make that statement a part of his “Christian” writings if it describes life here as well as in eternity?

When I was a kid, before I ever heard about a JW, I knew that Jesus wasn't God almighty.

With all due respect, do you think that basing your beliefs on childish reasoning is wise? I wasn't on board with the deity of Christ when I accepted Christs' new covenant - "for the forgiveness of sins".

I just stood on the scripture that plainly stated that all power had been given him in heaven and earth. I reasoned, that if I made a deal with Jesus, it would be good everywhere based on that verse.

So, a person doesn't need to have everything worked out to start associating with bible-believing Christians. There is MUCH common ground to get started with.

Not sure where you are getting your information. Czech and Slovakia have virtually identical languages. It is the same culture. The goverments are very close, even representing each other to the EU if the other president can't make an appointment. That is normally unheard of in politics. Your statement, "Divided into ethnic groups that really don’t care about their central overlords" certainly couldn't be farther from reality as far as the Czech Republic and Slovakia are concerned.

The only land dispute my relatives who live there have ever heard of is with Germany on the other side of the country, which is not surprising, given Germany's history and the fact that Czechoslavakia was the first country Hitler annexed. As far as the gypsies are concerned that you mention; No one really knows where they came from. They are all over Europe and mostly live off state welfare.

In Psalm 49:15, we then read, “But God will ransom my soul from the power of Sheol, for he will receive me.”

Doesn't the above scripture you cited indicate that Sheol is the recipient of the payment? We even have an fairly common expression today, "He will have hell to pay for that".

Seems to indicate that Sheol is the recipinent of the payment, not God. This fits ratheer nicely with scripture which says, "the wages of sin is death".

Jesus paid hell for us.
